Archaeologist in the classroom
Working on a virtual stage reproducing real actions improves learning and retention of concepts.
The advantages of serious games in teaching are so great that most educational centers have already integrated them into their curricular programs, either in the classroom or as a complementary activity to do at home.
A Chinese proverb sums up well what serious games bring to the new generations: “I hear it and I forget it, I see it and I remember it, I do it and I learn it”. Seeing, manipulating and experimenting for oneself keeps our brain active to make decisions, assimilate concepts and draw conclusions.
Archaeologist introduces a new scientific discipline in the classroom: Archaeology. We allow students to complete their training in Social Sciences in an interactive, fun and motivating way.
Archeology allows us to know the history, the ancient civilizations and their culture, fundamental pillars of the formation of any person. And at the same time, it encourages students to respect cultural heritage and diversity.
In addition, archeology allows learning through discoveries. So students must ask questions, search for answers, hypothesize and find solutions, just as they will have to do as adults in their personal and professional lives.
And they can do that in Spanish or English, so they also work with languages.
Students have included the digital world in their sources of knowledge and motivating them in the classroom is difficult if we only work with classic teaching tools. Implementing Archaeologist helps teachers from very diverse disciplines to streamline their classes, motivate students and complete their lessons.
And all this through a technological tool adapted to teaching 4.0. that adds the advantages of virtual reality, artificial intelligence or robotics to give students new opportunities.
Archaeologist complements all these areas:
- Social Sciences.
- History and Geography.
- Plastic, Visual and Audiovisual Education.
- Spanish language and literature.
- First foreign language (English).
- Natural Sciences.
- Communicative and creative practices.
- Classic culture.
- Scientific culture.
- Technology.
- Initiation to entrepreneurial activity.
- In the excavation:
Students must show their ability to follow the work method in an orderly and systematic way.
- At the laboratory:
Students must show their ability to collect and organize information.
- In class, at the end of the game:
The group can develop (through collective discussion or in small groups):
3.1. Actions of deduction, reasoning and establishment of relationships.
3.2 Argue and justify hypotheses.
3.3 Propose new questions.
3.4 Make a summary of the experience (what we have achieved individually).

It's an interactive, dynamic and fun way to learn about the different periods of history, different civilizations and their cultures and customs.
With this video game you can compare different periods of history and see the different responses that humans have given to vital situations.
